Rachel Cunningham

Executive Director

Rachel has a diverse background working with individuals with mental health needs as well as individuals who have experienced trauma. She is currently at the end stages of pursuing a Master’s Degree in Social Work with a certificate in mental health and a speciality in trauma. She understands the need for a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to therapy and the healing power of animals. She is certified in QPR (Question, Persuade, and Refer) suicide-prevention gatekeeper training, crisis intervention training, and has experience working with at-risk youth.

Meghan Kosar came to Stoneybrook with years of horse care experience as well as experience caring for other large and exotic animals.

Sophia Shadid

Occupational Therapist

Sophia has been a licensed occupational therapist since 2018. She graduated with honors from Sacred Heart University with a Master’s Degree in occupational therapy. Her bachelor’s degree was in human development. She worked doing occupational therapy in two counties as well as serving as a fieldwork educator at Chatham University.

Tara McLean - Riding Instructor

Susan has a background in education and coaching and has taught students of all ages and abilities in a variety of settings. She has experience as a therapeutic riding instructor. As a horse a dog owner, she brings a combination of experience and passion to the therapeutic setting and believes wholeheartedly in the healing connection between horse and student.

Tara has twenty-seven years of experience owning, riding, and working with horses. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Education Curriculum and Instruction. She is currently working on pursuing a Master of Leadership degree. Tara hopes to combine all of her experience working with horses and her education to provide students with coaching that is both effective and therapeutic.

Stoneybrook is a PATH, Intl. Premier Accredited facility — the only one in Westmoreland County and one of only three in Western Pennsylvania.
